5 Web Tools That Will Help Your Website!
The importance of your websites performance is often overlooked. I want to bring the below 5 tools to your attention as easy ways you can improve the performance of your website.
1. Broken Links Checkers
Links on your website help show search engines the quality of your website. This is why it is important to link to and have links from trusted websites to improve your SEO.
On the opposite side of the coin, broken links can actually be a detriment to your SEO. Simply, a broken link is one that doesn’t work. You have probably experienced it in the past when you have clicked a link and it has given you some sort of error message. It is actually quite common, even for big companies!
Other than the search engines not liking it, the user is going to be put off. I know for certain that if I end up at an error page, I will usually exit the website and give up on it.
There are many websites out there that you can put your website link into and it will scrawl your entire website, finding broken links. I have put a few links below, I suggest doing more than one, just to make sure you find them all.
Once you have found broken links on your website, make sure to go through and fix them. Either edit the link to link to the correct place or remove it altogether. It is better to not be there than to be directing to an error page.
2. Backlink Checker
As mentioned in point 1, linking to other trusted website and having them link back to you is good for SEO. It lets the search engine know that your website is worth linking to, so it will improve your ranking.
If you have been creating blog posts and other content, and linking to other trusted sites, you may want to know exactly how many links your website has.
You can go to any of the below links, and it will tell you how many backlinks your website has. If it is particularly low, you can start by linking to other sites right away!
3. Mobile Friendly Checker
As 52.2% of web browsing is now done on mobile devices, it is important to make sure your website is mobile friendly.
Google has its own tool that will tell you if your website is mobile friendly or not. As Google is the front runner for search engines, it’s important to keep them happy!
Click here to go to the checker and just enter your website URL
4. Review Link Generator
If you are a local business with a business location, you should already be trying to get your customers to leave you good reviews on Google. It helps with your SEO ranking and is just nice to see!
The below tool will help you create a link that goes straight to leaving you a review on Google. You can then use the link however you like to get your customers to leave reviews.
5. Google Analytics
Last but certainly not least is Google Analytics! This has ended up last because I wasn’t going to include it at first as I thought that everyone has probably already heard of it and has it set up for their website but I changed my mind and thought I should detail it on the off-chance you haven’t heard about it before.
You can set up Google Analytics for you website and it will track pretty much everything. You can see how many people have viewed each of your pages, where those people came from, how long they were on each page, which links they clicked to navigate where, what time of day it was, what network they are on, what type of device they were on, where abouts they are from, if this is the first time they have visited your site… Ok I think you get the point now, there is a lot of data you can get from this.
Not just having Google Analytics, but utilising it in the decisions for your business can be massively beneficial to you. Click below to set it up if you haven’t already.
